During my recent stay at a charming hotel in the heart of Derbyshire, I was pleasantly surprised by the stunning location and fantastic value. The surroundings of the hotel exuded luxury and elegance, making me feel like I was in a fancy establishment. However, to my delight, the hotel turned out to be a budget-friendly option. The 17th-century manor, which was converted into one of the UK's oldest YHAs, offered basic but comfortable accommodation with bunks and dorms. For less than £40 a night, my partner and I had the luxury of having a four-bunk ensuite dorm all to ourselves. The staff were friendly, the food was simple yet delicious, and there was even a guest bar. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a budget-friendly stay with incredible value in a stunning location.

We had a wonderful stay at Ilam Hall. The atmosphere was great and the people running the place were kind, laid-back, and really helpful. The setting was absolutely beautiful, with lovely gardens by the river. It was such a tranquil and peaceful place, right on the edge of the Peak District. The building had its charm, although some parts could do with updating. it was a fantastic experience.

We had a small hiccup during our stay when we realized there was no TV in our room. However, it turned out to be a good thing as it encouraged us to disconnect and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

I am really chuffed with the large room, facilities, and cleanliness of this place. The location is excellent for enjoying walks straight from the doorstep. The staff were especially helpful, particularly Mathew who worked on reception. The service laundry, room amenities, heating, shared kitchen, and carpeted floors were all great. The dining restaurant and bar/lounge area provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The special diet menus were a bonus. The leisure garden area and free Wi-Fi were additional amenities that enhanced my stay.

The only minor issue I experienced was when some guests stood at the bottom of the stairs and had loud conversations/phone calls at 23:00+, which is unacceptable. However, I would still highly recommend this hotel to others based on the fantastic room, facilities, and friendly staff.

During our stay at Yha Ilam Hall, we found the staff to be incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location of the hostel was fantastic, surrounded by picturesque grounds and offering a wide range of activities. The facilities, including the lounge spaces and comfortable rooms, were well-maintained and provided a cozy atmosphere. Additionally, the food served was well-presented and delicious. Although there were a few minor inconveniences, such as noise from neighboring rooms and the absence of a nearby pub, the overall experience was highly enjoyable.

Stunning location with beautiful views and surroundings. the building itself is amazing and the inside is modern and clean. the staff were excellent and always helpful. the food was superb and reasonably priced. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, such as table tennis and board games, and the seating areas were comfortable and relaxing. the WiFi was limited, but it was actually nice to have a break from devices and be sociable.

The family room above the kitchen had a loud extractor fan that started up early in the morning, which was a bit inconvenient. It would have been easier to handle if we hadn't arrived late the night before.

Located close to attractive places like Alton Towers and a monument, this youth hostel is perfect for a budget, short break with friends. the rooms are spacious, comfortable with clean bedding and good service. There are also many facilities like games and areas to relax, and the hostel provides an excellent, hearty breakfast at affordable prices.

There might be some noise disturbance in the evening, especially from children running in the corridors. To help all the residents enjoy their stay, it would be helpful if the hostel put up a polite notice to remind everyone to keep the noise levels down after 10 pm.

The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for our business trip. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful scenery and close to attractions. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Our stay was disrupted by noisy guests who seemed to have no regard for others trying to sleep. Despite our complaints, the staff were unable or unwilling to do anything about it.

Had a wonderful short stay at this budget accommodation in a stunning location. the hostel is in a sprawling National Trust parkland with plenty of walking opportunities and beautiful views. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and spacious. the Italian Garden was particularly stunning. We also enjoyed the good food and the comfortable beds that allowed us to have a restful slumber.

The wifi service was unavailable and the signal was weak, which made it difficult to connect with the outside world. There was also a queue at check-in time, with no option for early paperwork completion.

Lovely old building in the middle of the beautiful Peak District national park. the surroundings were amazing, with old trees, a river, and sheep all around. the location couldn't be better for exploring the park. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the toilets were clean. I also enjoyed the background music in the restaurant, it had a great ambiance.

The room cleanliness was a bit hit or miss, as my girlfriend's room wasn't very clean and had a slight smell. the windows couldn't be opened fully, which made the rooms a bit stuffy.
